How It Works - Dun & Bradstreet Business Contacts

Using D&B Business Contacts as data source requires the customer to have an agreement with Dun & Bradstreet.

Country support

Searches in the D&B Business Contacts API can either be performed in all countries or in one specific country. There is no limitation per customer which countries you have access to. The following countries are supported:

ACD and OBO in the Same Lime CRM Solution

When using Dun & Bradstreet as a data provider, it is possible to use both the One-by-One (OBO) API, by activating the Lime CRM desktop client add-in "One-by-One", and the Business Contacts API in the Lime CRM web client, to buy companies. Despite that they are using two different Dun & Bradstreet API:s. The Business Contacts API, that is used in ACD, offers more properties than the old One-by-One API. But the One-by-One API offers the possibility to also buy contact persons.

Warning

This requires an agreement with Dun & Bradstreet that gives you access to both APIs (OBO and BC).

Warning

Companies bought via ACD will not be added to the subscription list for OBO, meaning changes in company information will not be included in the subscription file connected to OBO. If Dun & Bradstreet text files with changes are not imported into Lime CRM, then this warning may be ignored.

Handling IDs

The local ID used is in the same format in both APIs, but the global ID (on the format :) may differ. The reason is that the API used in One-by-One may still use the old country prefix 112 for Sweden (if the data source selected in OBO was "Sweden"), or no country prefix at all (if the data source selected in OBO was "Sweden [PARAD]"). Because of this, depending on if you should use both ACD and OBO at the same time or if you want to migrate from OBO to just using ACD, you will have to take different actions during installation.
